Love is a dirty business. The lack of love even dirtier. You can scrub and sing all day until your skin is as red as a valentine. But they will never return. This same body that moved them to tears, this same body that warmed them… is now frozen inside a song. Maybe you refuse to wipe the steam from the mirror and just let it dissipate on its own. Give yourself time to prepare a face as the mirror slowly develops like an old instant polaroid. Quickly comb your hair. Brush your teeth. Get dressed. Then as you adjust your smile and you come into focus… you notice that you’re still humming. Is there anything sadder than finding that lover’s hair in the tub… curled into an indecipherable answer?

About Apache Cafe

Since the opening day several years ago, Apache Café has matured and evolved. This café/gallery/venue has been recognized, reviewed, and awarded locally, nationally, and internationally as a place of unique standing. From our weekly ongoing series to our feature events, performances, showcases, and experiments, Apache is many things. A place of refreshing originality and decisive expression, a place of opinion and purity, a place to challenge conventions and reward discovery – well, you'll just have to decide for yourself exactly what Apache Café is to you.
The owners opened Apache Café for lunch at 11:00am on Monday April 9th 2001. Having spent the entire night awake in order to finish café recipes, they served just one table that day. With borrowed art on the walls and jazz music in the background they dreamed to create a place of creative freedom where great music, delicious food, and bold art could live.
