///Une journée sans danser est une journée perdue, Nietzsche disait quelque chose comme ça... Ou plus exactement : « Et que l'on estime perdue toute journée où l’on aura pas dansé au moins une fois. » (Ainsi parlait Zarathoustra)***

Over the last five years, Brighton-based choreographer and designer, Theo Clinkard, has built a reputation for creating affecting and visually arresting work. He follows his recent commissions for Tanztheater Wuppertal Pina Bausch and Danza Contemporanea de Cuba with This Bright Field, a new work for his company conceived in two parts.
Part One takes the audience on stage in small groups for an intimate encounter with Clinkard’s exceptional company of twelve international dancers. Visible within a maze of constantly moving screens, tender exchanges between the performers help the audience to connect with the cast.
In Part Two, Clinkard’s choreography takes to the full stage on a cinematic scale. Retaining vivid impressions of the first part, and with the familiarity of the individual dancers still in mind, the audience is back in the auditorium seats. Featuring striking lighting design, bold costumes and music performed live by James Keane, This Bright Field gradually builds in momentum to become a spectacle of visual and emotional power.

Vulnerability

Sentimental Reason full show – 2002

In the summer of ’99 a newspaper article described a man who stole a horse from its field, bound its legs, stripped off his clothes and had sex with it in broad daylight. He was caught in the act by two passing police as he was clearly in view from an adjoining road. The police did not know what to charge him with.
