IL COMBATTIMENTO DI ETTORE E ACHILLE
Videomusical Work/Opera Videomusicale, 1989

ENG
Two screens, two simultaneous points of view, two eyes that focus on this episode taken from Homer’s epic. At times the images match as happens with human vision, and at other times they are separate and interchangeable, as happens with thought. The 7hscreens, placed side by side, recreate scenes and landscapes and the images of the actors move from one space to the next in a constant swapping of identities and roles. The emotions are heightened by the drawn out alienated time scale of the narration and the spread out slow motion of the action. The memory of the fight seeps into the landscapes’ very texture, winds its way into the dancer’s bodies, and a true synthesis is reached, devoid of all mythical allusion or epic reconstruction.

ITA

This work is inspired by the wood's nymphs Alseides.
All the musical composition was made with processed voice sounds, both in acoustic form (directly with the pronunciation and intonation), and electronically. Each fragment is selected, processed and placed directly at the final spacial destination. The construction of the visual part has been developed in parallel with the sound, but the music giving the role to forming the backbone of the entire audiovisual composition.

Oquedades is an opening, an open crack on a closed land.
The open pores of a zone that absorb and hide the interior images in the same time, images that are born from all that's exceeding, created from life.
This is really a space that generate itself in a continuous and interior birth.

Oquedades is published in dvd with the book "Obertures del Cos" and dedicated to the video quadrilogy, edited by Universitat de València.
It's also present in the archive of the Festival D-Neff in Vitoria-Gasteiz.
Its musical version was bought from the IMEB of Bourges.
